For the songwriter, the apex of achievement is always getting the song "out there". A good song can transcend both performer and audience; the ideal venue for such a bold display is often where the music is being interpreted in front of that audience: live, in concert!

This compilation of exclusive performances is captured from a number of artists, at shows in Toronto, in the year 2011. Their inclusion is no random happenstance-- each one displays a strong sense of songwriting narrative, coupled with powerful (or subtle) delivery, and the actual recordings are presented mostly from an audience perspective.

You will hear some songs in one-off formats, such as the duet version of The Young Novelists' "Left Behind", or Megan Jerome's "Starry Star" performed solo and intimate to an incredibly attentive audience. You will hear some improvised dialogue and insightful between-song banter (crossfaded, naturally, like a real live album). Most importantly, you will hear an audible snapshot of an artist-- a songwriter or a band of musicians-- performing something perhaps only to be heard in this instance, originally destined only for the memory of the lucky crowd at those shows.
